Ponder, Question, Reflect and Repeat
The last of 2023 is upon us whether we are ready for it or not. Hard to believe a new year is right around the corner. December always has a way of quickly moving through our traditions; old and new, family gatherings and trying to squeeze in those last items on our to do lists to check them off.
I find that this time of year is all about reflection for me. Reflecting on all the things. My daily choices, my career, my creative interests and where I see myself a year from now. I ask myself questions upon questions; how did I grow this year, what were my new interests, did an old interest pop up with a new twist, what inspired me this past year, where did I not get it right, what pieces of the puzzle am I missing…
Questions to ponder and then hope comes in. Hope fills in the gaps of where I did not get it right in the past year, where my reflection is kindling for the new year and all it holds.
Ahhh… there is something about a fresh new year…. but before everything becomes new again…let’s finish off 2023!
This Month’s Cards:
Card making each month really gets my creative juices flowing and this month was no different! I had a request to create holiday cards for my administration which is always a big honor. Those were the Christmas trees with the smeared blue skies. The hearts are from a heart hole puncher.
I also created some thank you cards with a new abstract flower idea I wanted to try out. Other cards are coming to my etsy shop soon!
Finally, I created a few Christmas cards to send off to my grandparents. I am still gravitating to coloring pencils. Oh and the one set was of collage fodder flowers. (Fodder is an artsy word for scrap papers I have marked or painted on in some way). I collaged into fun and unique flowers.

I am excited to announce on December 1st - I reopened my etsy shop LynnDylan Designs!!!
I am working to upload new items as often as I can. This is the first time my shop has been open since 2019 and through lessons learned I have high hopes to keep this goal ongoing. So check out the link and follow my shop so you don’t miss any new listings.

This is the final coloring page for 2023. Coloring pages will cease for now while I work on my digital drawing craft.
A special thank you for all your support and encouragement on this creative journey in 2023. I hit a very real creative block this year that I have not felt in a very long time and thankfully I was able to push through it. I also had a time of thriving creatively and some real creative breakthroughs. A lot can happen in a year!
I am thrilled to start a new year and the wheels are turning for all things art making and sharing. I have set some goals for 2024 and one will be all things digital drawing. Never fear though as my hands will still be on traditional art making, as well. Another goal is continuing to blog in 2024 and keep my etsy shop stocked year round. So lots and lots of things happening and once again thank you for being here to share on this creative and inspiring life!
