Artist’s Eyes
My March Calendar
I am loving this paint each month’s calendar! And this month I stayed very simple with only long wide swatches of greens. Some bled together for an unexpected result. Love it when that happens!
Happy Spring everyone! We can hopefully put that cold cold winter behind us and see all the lovely buds coming to life on the plants we drive or walk by everyday. Sure, that means the pollen season has begun full force here in the south, but spring has so much to offer us if we take time to look through our sneezing.
I am thrilled to continue to build my YouTube channel with videos and creative content. Finally, I was able to put a bow on a brand new channel trailer. A channel trailer is the first video that starts playing when anyone clicks on your YouTube channel. It’s your “elevator speech” for your channel to get more subscribers and people watching your content. It sounds easy enough to do, but there is one concern…what is your channel about?
Well, for my channel Hannah Koch’s Just Keep Drawing, I could not quite pin it down. Sure it’s about art and art making, but I wondered if I could drill down even more? After thinking and watching my older videos and recalling conversations with so many of you, I finally figured it out. My YouTube channel is all about helping others see the world through the eyes of an artist. So, with a new perspective in hand, it was time to get in front of the camera, record it and then edit it altogether. Yay - a channel trailer is born!
Drawing in procreate to continue practicing my digital art skills.
NEW FABRIC COLLECTION:
GEOMETRIC SCOOPS
A visual scoop of colorfully sweet and geometric goodness to make your home decor and/or fabric stash delicious!
I am thrilled with this new collection! Each design was so satisfying to create and combine the various elements of art; line, shape and color. Then coming up with the name of each design is always the most fun challenge. So many of you have shared how your favorite part is reading the names of the designs and I love that part too! Check out my Spoonflower shop to see these designs in fabric and home decor mock ups. Click on the button below:

From designing fabric to creating video content to painting with gouache in my sketchbook to teaching each day - I love it all. I enjoy learning and growing in the process and overcoming a new challenge. I am certainly far from perfect in all the things, especially with editing videos and even getting the digital art like the vision in my head, but I am finding ways to not allow perfectionism to steal this time of me being an artist.
So grab your allergy medicine and your favorite art supplies and enjoy all this season has to offer.
Stay creative out there~
