Packing it all in
Recent sketchbook pages
It is beginning to get busy in my neck of the woods as all spring activities are about to be in full gear. I am trying to stay level and get art making in where I can. The pages above have been a frequent way I relax in the evening. I have no idea what each page will look like in the end. My only directives I made for myself are text and pattern have to be included in some way on the page. I see interesting pieces and parts on the pages that I ponder and get me excited to make more. We shall see what next month holds.
MANDALA WORKSHOP
I had the pleasure of being a vendor at the Johnston County Public Schools Educator Wellness Fair a few weeks ago on a teacher work day. I was asked to lead a mandala workshop and it was a wonderful day!
I was set up with my own mandala practice and tips handouts, natural elements all around for inspiration and a few books to show the many mandalas all around us. I wanted to create a space that was inviting, calm and relaxing for faculty and staff to learn how to make a mandala or just sit and color a few mandala pages I made.
It was a day of respite with background music playing and fellow co-workers coming in to give it a try.
Thank you to Johnston County Public Schools for providing this opportunity for our staff in the county and thank you for having me as a vendor.
Check out some photos below of my table setup, tools available and natural elements out and around the classroom.
COLOR SWATCHES
Each month I try to bring new and interesting color swatches out to see what fun color combinations I can make. This month I incorporated newspaper and magazine pages. I also threw in a quick digital color swatch.
It’s the shortest month of the year, but I believe I packed it as full as possible of all the creative things!
Stay creative~
